Thank You For a Great 2007 Christmas Get-together!!

Thank you to everyone who came to our December Christmas gathering!  Also, we want to thank each and every person who brought their own delicious food item. We had some really tasty food to choose from this year….a great variety.  Whether you slaved over the hot stove preparing it, or made a trip to the store to purchase it, everything was just fabulous and it appeared that everyone in attendance truly enjoyed themselves, not only sampling the many food items but also with visiting one another.  If everyone that arrived signed in on the attendance sheet, ( we tried to keep fairly good track of that, although there were some additional dozen stragglers or so ) then we had somewhere between 55 and 65 folks present! Some of our area’s firefighters were also able to be there.  Thanks to the support and generosity of several businesses in our own North Charleston Community who freely donated to our annual Christmas event upon our request, we were able to give away some really wonderful gift certificate prizes. These area businesses surely do deserve our future patronage and we want to encourage all of you to keep them in mind with your return business.  Following are the names of the businesses that donated to us this year:

  Stickey Fingers Restaurant-Northwoods, Wendy’s-Hwy#78,  Atlanta Bread Co.-Hwy#78, Zaxby’s-Hwy#78, Subway-Elms Plantation Blvd., Bruster’s Ice-Cream-Hwy#78,  Applebee’s-Northwoods, Olive Garden-Northwoods, Oh Charley’s-Northwoods, Chick-Fil-A-Northwoods, Perkins Restaurant-Rivers Ave., Mark’s Super Service Center-Rivers & Midland Park Rd.

Neighborhood News

  • Plans are proceeding to build houses on Shadow Lane where the trailers used to be.
  • The property at the corner of Gable and University Boulevard is going to be developed as a private emergency medical facility.
  • To make it easier to see traffic, the city is cutting back brush and small trees along the front of the first undeveloped lot on the right as you enter Dantzler Street from University Boulevard. This should greatly improve safety.
  • Thieves are destroying heating/AC systems worth many thousands of dollars, mostly at medical offices, in order to get a hundred dollars or less of copper. Report to the police any suspicious activity around a church, home, or business.
